35 years in the making...

Footlights Theatre Group was founded in 1990 by a small group of drama enthusiasts led by Roisin-Anne McGeown. Their goal was simple: to create a space where people could come together to express themselves through the art of performance. Roisin-Anne has forged a path for young performers to shine in the Dungannon area in the intervening decades, building this remarkable ensemble from the ground up.
One of the most significant aspects of Footlights Drama Group is its connection to the community. The group has always been committed to involving local talent, whether they are seasoned actors or newcomers to the stage.
This commitment has fostered a sense of belonging among members. Many have formed lifelong friendships through their shared love of theatre.
Footlights has not only entertained audiences but has also inspired its members. Many young people have discovered their passion for acting and storytelling through the group. Its members have gone on to careers in performing arts, sound production, arts management and direction. The impact of this organisation extends far beyond the stage.
